Jalousie Plantation

We have just returned from our third visit to the Jalousie Plantation. The beautiful setting still gets to us. Where else can you find a fantastic uncrowded beach with a 2500ft mountain that climbs almost vertically from the beach (which is almost impossible to do justice with a camera). With another dominant mountain ¾ of a mile away, these Pitons... more

Fond Doux Holiday Plantation

Dec 29, 2008

After a lot of research on places to stay in St Lucia, myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Fond Doux for three nights early December in the African Tulip Cottage and we had the most wonder ful time. The plantation is a truly beautiful place, filled with a fantastic array of trees, flowers and fruits and hidden amongst all... more

Normally check-in time at most of these resorts is 3pm. But coming from Stonefield and being so close, we had arrived at Ladera at about 12:30pm. You drive in and park at in front of reception. We had thought that the warm hospitality at Stonefield was good, but Ladera really does outdo themselves. They unloaded our luggage for us, and... more

Turning off the main road to Stonefield's driveway, we weren't sure if we had entered the correct part of the resort or not. It was a steep drive down with only room for one vehicle. If someone was coming up, I'm not sure who would have to reverse and let the other through. But luckily during our entire stay at... more

Ladera Resort

While it has some very small flaws, and flirts with being just a bit expensive, the views, ambiance, elegance, exclusivity, and service make Ladera a 5 out of 5. We were drawn to St. Lucia for our honeymoon because we saw photos of the Pitons and thought St. Lucia would be the most picturesque of the Caribbean islands. We spent... more

My advice on going to Jalousie would be to read all the reviews on this website and make an informed decision. The hotel is not in the best conditions - bit shabby etc - but the location is fantastic. If you can reconcile yourself to this and not expect 5* surroundings - you will probably have a great time -... more

Jade Mountain Resort

Dec 23, 2008

My wife and I stayed recently stayed at Jade Mountain for 9 nights in December 08. We stayed in a Star Infinity Suite. Upon our return to the United Kingdom I felt compelled to write some comments on our stay. This is not just a resort for people with deep pockets and would recommend it for special occasions and a... more

When we began looking for a honeymoon spot privacy and relaxation were on the top of our list. We wanted to stay away from the crowded party style resorts. We found exactly what we were looking for when we arrived. The staff greeted us and were very helpful as we got settled in our villa. Our villa,Tamarind, was very private... more

Anse Chastanet

Dec 21, 2008

Anse Chastanet is certainly in a unique setting with a genuinely relaxed feel to the place. The staff are the friendliest group you can imagine and food was lovely. It's wonderful to have such spectacular views of the Pitons from the hillside rooms and the bars/restaurants - magical feel. The activities are also excellent, with diving and mountain biking (don't... more

Jade Mountain Resort

i stayed here with my family for ten days last december and can honestly say it has the most stunning place i have ever experienced. The true genius of this hotel is that the back wall of your room is completely open, giving you a full panoramic view of the scenery while still maintaining your privacy. we were on the... more

Jade Mountain Resort

I can only agree with the top reviews below as we had a wonderful 2 nights after 5 night stay at Anse Chastenet. It's worth a treat just for 2 nights as it is truly amazing. We've stayed at many of the best places, like St Regis Bora Bora for our honeymoon last year and Jade Mountain is so much... more

My husband and I chose Ladera after seeing it in a magazine and investigating several other options in the Caribbean. We wanted something secluded and romantic without the mega-resort feel. The staff was very friendly when we arrived and extremely accommodating throughout our stay of 7 nights. We stayed in Suite 'P' for our first 3 nights- it had gorgeous... more

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at the Jalousie Plantation where our wedding took place. After falling in love with Grenada we were unsure whether St Lucia would meet our standards but the Island is stunning and the people are just as friendly. The staff at the hotel could not do more for you. Especially Marcus the... more

Hi, Why has is taken so long to write this review? My husband and I stayed at Crystals last summer. All I can say is it is simply wonderful. I wish we could have stayed for longer. My wife researched and decided to stay at Crystals in December last year. We were excited based on the reviews and we booked our trip with Monica in early June. Several months later, we received wonderful news that my wife was pregnant, and our doctor recommended cancelling the trip after researching the healthcare sysem in St. Lucia. We contacted the... more

A group of us visited the Fond Doux Plantation on 24th November 2008 to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday. We all had a fantastic time, the hospitality and cuisine was amazing. After lunch we were treated to a guided tour of the plantation by a highly knowledgeable guide which was absolutely "Jaw-dropping". We would all like to send an enormous... more

My husband found this resort after reviewing other places on St. Lucia. After reviewing the traveler reviews on this site and speaking to the resort ourselves we decided to do it. We found the staff to be very warm and welcoming from the time we arrived to when we left. Always smiling, helpful and accomodating to anything we needed. The... more

Normally, we avoid Caribbean islands during the months of July/August for it is the cyclone season. Inspired by an article in the NYT we decided to take the chance anyway. I confirm most of the reviews that the hotel is situated in a breathtaking place and the location is so nice that you do not want to go anywhere else... more

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon to Jalousie from Nov. 24 through Dec. 1st. We got worried when we read a lot of these reviews and we almost changed resorts before we left for St. Lucia. I am very glad that we stayed with Jalousie!! Just an FYI for American travelers...you will feel like the minority here.... more

La Haut Plantation

La Haut must have the best location on St Lucia - the views across to the Pitons and over Soufriere are stunning, as all the photos posted on this thread prove. They do not exaggerate! We arrived rather late after a delayed flight, but the staff had kindly provided a cold-plate in our room - an example of their courtesy... more
