Traveler Reviews on West Flanders

'T Mozarthuys

Jan 6, 2009

The steak which you cook on a hot stone at the table is excellent and the fish pot is also very good. The house wine served by the carafe is also perfectly respectable. Not cheap but nowhere near the centre of Bruges will be and we would certainly go back. more

De Koetse

Jan 6, 2009

We reserved for Christmas Eve as it can be tricky if you have not booked in Bruges on this date. The restaurant was packed and we discovered that it was a set menu @ 75 euro p.p ! This however included wines with each course and as a special day it seemed good value as it included foie gras and... more

Au Petit Grand

Jan 6, 2009

Dined on 23rd December evening. The chateaubriand was not the best piece of meat I have eaten which was disappointing given the reviews. Perhaps the fact that it can be served for 1 person should have warned us ( although my wife and I both chose this dish) Also I am wary when the meat is served pre- sliced rather... more

Apero & Bistro Pastis

Jan 6, 2009

My partner and I visited Brugges for the first time for a new year break. We booked into Apero & Bistro Pastis before we left the UK, purely by chance. The day before new years eve we visited the restaurant to check it out and confirm our booking. We were very pleased with the interior of the restaurant and confirmed... more

We arrived 29th Dec 08 for a New Years Holiday Break, with 21 other people, on an organized tour, staying for four nights. This was H/B Basis, with a New Years Eve Gala Dinner. The Hotel was clean, comfortable, and warm, as the temp. outside was approaching -8 at times. Firstly the Bar Prices, for a half bottle of wine,... more

We stopped at the Heritage over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The hotel room was not massive but was very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was buffet style hot and cold food and was really good we even had champagne if we wanted it. It is a shame the hotel does not do evening meals however there are many... more

Aquarius B&B

Jan 5, 2009

Great value B+B about 15 mins walk from the centre of Bruges. The owner is very helpful without being intrusive and breakfast was excellent. The room is simply furnished and there is a big en suite bathroom. more

Relais Ravestein

Jan 5, 2009

Relais Ravenstein made for an overall pleasant stay. A bit off the beaten path (not a bad thing), it offered fresh design (public areas and bedroom), great tea room, and decent, well-rehearsed introduction to the city by the staff. Location-wise, it took 10 minutes to walk to the market place, around which most of the restaurants are located. As for... more

De Stove

Jan 5, 2009

Anna Maria England completely misses the point of De Stove when she complains of no atmosphere. It is precisely its intimate service, quietness and calm that lend it the charm that makes it the best place in Brugge - when it's open. The food is out of this world, but it's a hobby, not a business, for the wonderful couple... more

Oud Huis de Peellaert

Jan 5, 2009

A great hotel in a great location with friendly staff - beautiful lobby / bar area, very nice breakfast room, and well appointed clean rooms. Nothing to fault at all - I just need an excuse to return. more

Bryghia Hotel

Jan 5, 2009

Booked the hotel several weeks before our visit and unfortunately the weakening pound made quite a difference to the final cost of the rooms. Having said that this would have been the case anywhere in a city which is any case expensive. Couple that ran the hotel very friendly and helpful. I do have to agree with a couple of... more

Number 11 B&B

Jan 5, 2009

Number 11 was recommended to me by a friend and lived up to the glowing reference. Not only was it furnished far more coolly than most hotels I stay in (and I stay in a lot), it was way friendlier and more homely than them all, with breakfast taken at a huge shared table in the morning. Rooms were bright... more

Bed and Breakfast Lut and Bruno Setola

Jan 5, 2009

We spent 5 nights at the end of 2008 in Brugge. I booked this B&B based on all the reviews I read from TA. So I decided to give it a try. All the comments made by previous travellers are all true. We loved this B&B (my 2 kids absolutely loved the loft) and had a great time in Brugge.... more

Oud Huis de Peellaert

Jan 5, 2009

We spent three nights here over New Year, in a deluxe room, thanks to a mess-up over our original booking elsewhere which meant Expedia/hotels.com organised this for us instead – we weren’t complaining! It’s a grand old building and the room was spacious and comfortable with two bathrooms – one with sink and shower over bath, the other with the... more

Hotel Heritage

Jan 5, 2009

Loved this hotel which is in a great location a block away from the market square. Room was very comfortable, staff very helpful and lovely lounge downstairs to relax in. There is a "night shop" on the corner of the street-a bit like a spar-which is handy. For good food-don't eat around the square, go to side streets where there... more

Pand Hotel Small Luxury Hotel

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Pand between Christmas and New Year and were not dissappointed. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and throughout our stay all of the staff were friendly and very helpful in making our visit a special one. The hotel itself is just devine, and we loved our room... more

Four of us had a wonderful New Year's Eve Dinner here. Not the cheapest option probably, but one that we will all remember for a long time. The food, ambience and service were all excellent. We made a reservation well in advance as Bruges tends to get booked up at this time of year. Definitely to be recommended. more

Hotel Heritage

This was our second visit to the Hotel Heritage, both times for the Christmas Market. The first time our little boy was 2, this year 3, both times we have experienced the excellent customer service of the hotel and the beautiful decor. The rooms are ample, modern, clean and well presented. We have always felt very welcome, even with a... more
