Spent a few hours off a cruise ship on this beach. There were chairs and umbrellas to rent, food and drink. We were left off at the Big Banana and arranged to be picked up at a certain time. the water was perfect and we had a nice time. more

My husband and I aren't the standard touristy types. Quiet beaches with few people appeal to us greatly. Calm soft white sands, amazing sunsets, gorgeous, moored sailboats and calm waters combined with the most friendly locals, convenient commissaries, amazing views, beach barbecues, live caribbean music, amazing rum concoctions and an inner peace that we've found nowhere else during our travels... more

I spent a week at the Mongoose Apartments in early December '07. The accommodations were flawless, and CGB made a convenient base for exploring. But the beach was a disappointment. On the plus side, the view is indeed gorgeous. I also enjoyed being able to walk to dinner at the pleasant selection of laid-back restaurants and ate quite well most... more

Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you like to be swamped by cruise passengers. They took over the place while we werre there. We visited Long Beach and decided that we should have stayed there. No cruise people, no boats moored all over the place. more

Well I am one of those cruise folks who had the opportunity to visit Cane Bay Beach. Fortunately, I was with a group who knew the island so we rented a truck for our visit on the island. The advantage I guess I have with cruising and the fact that I am a Travel Agent; is that I can go... more

Check these photos -- this bay is heaven on earth. Maybe one of these reviewers arrived when the "Cruise Alert" brought a hundred cruise ship passengers to Cane Garden Bay. Don't worry, they leave in a couple of hours. And the flotsam and jetsam that they leave behind is quickly tidied up, leaving the beach as virginal as it is... more

Give me a break! The last reviewer said there was "overdevelopement"?? Where?? Were they at another beach? We were in Cane Garden Bay for a week. Stayed at the Mongoose Apartments. Great place. The beach here is absolutely beautiful. White sand; clear, turquoise water. We've been to Mexico, the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Turks and Caicos, so we know a... more

We stayed right by CGB and loved it. We knew ahead of time that it would be busy on cruise ship days, so we did other things on those days, such as day trips to other islands, a day sail, or seeing the other sights on Tortola. CGB is a great home base for a land based trip in the... more

This place used to be beautiful, but has been turned into a dump by overdevelopment. What a shame. How can they allow all the tacky crap on this once pristine place. more
