Fun & Unique: as it all- forgery, glass-blowing, jewelry, kids shops, coffee, bistro patios, boardwalk along water, duck/turtl pond, cute litte ferry rides, famers market & gifts galore. Granville Island is a treasure chest of goodies. Shops with all kinds of unique gifts made by artisans. Pottery, scarfs, jewelry. A good portion of it can be pricey, but some of it is reasonable. We went here twice, just loved how eclectic and funky the place was...and GREAT food selection. I had some amazing Dungenous Crab...yum! We took a cab from the hotel. The tourist trolley also stops through here. WORTH A VISIT!!! more

I had read all of the rave reviews about Granville. My family and I were staying at a condo in Yaletown, and so we took the water taxi over to Granville one evening. As it turns out, everything shuts down at 5 and 6 pm, so nothing was open. So we walked around and got a flavor for the island.... more

Granville Island is rated as one of the best neighborhoods in North America, it is a good story of how it was rebuilt from a rundown warehouse district to the quaint little area it is today.
