Hi there, we have just been to see the volcanoes at Timanfaya national park, it is totally amazing, quite something to behold and a must see. However, we were very very glad that we didn´t pay the totally ludacris price of 52 euros which your tour operator will offer you. We took the local bus to Yaiza (which cost 1.33euros... more

Date Visited 5th August 2008. 25min drive from Playa Blanca. We arrived early about 1030am and it was already busy. But it was all well organised, directed to the carpark and straight onto the coach trip around the park which is included in the entrance fee. If I remember rightly it was 8Euro for an adult and 4Euro for a... more

We were repeatedly told by our rep (Thomas Cook) that we should go by bus to Timanfaya, that it was the only way, and that it was only €46 per person. Having done a little research, I had my doubts, so we went with hiring a car (€55 for 3 days, €20 of fuel [from Montanas cars in puerto del... more

First time in Lanzarote, on travelling from airport to Playa Blanca where we were staying the landscape changed. Have never seen any thing like it. Lava rocks everywhere. We hired a car and went to Timanfaya National Park. Here we took the coach trip around the volcanoes. Landscape is like something from Dr Who. Also visited El Golfo with its... more

My first trip to Lanzarote a few years back we took a bus tour to the volacano. We enjoyed it. Food was mediocre (chicken/sausages). Enjoyed experiments. Did a tour of hotels picking up and dropping off passengers. Quite pricey as well from what I remember. However, on my next visit we hired a car. Had a lesiurely drive up to... more

Im not a sight seeing person, but after finding Puerta del Carmen is full of English and Irish Bars, Chinese Restos and everything else you would find at Blackpool I finally managed to persuade my partner to hire a car and see the rest of Lanzarote. It was fab and out of all the attractions the Fire Mountains are definetly... more

So ok - we got this trip cheap from a rep in Costa Teguise and maybe we should have looked into the 'catch' first!!!! Myself and my son desperately wanted to go and see the volcano's and ride a camel so when we saw leaflets lying around Costa Teguise for the "South Tour', which included both of these attractions, we... more

Hi. I visited the Timanfaya on Saturday 23rd June and had a fantastic time. When the coach enters the national park road, you have the El Diablo (The Devil) sign and you have the lava rock lying on both sides of the road. Between the years 1730 to 1736 this was awash with live molten lava it would have literally... more

We visited the national park via coach booked through our Sunset Rep. Our Guide for the day was excellent and gave us so much history about Lanzarote. My three teenagers loved the day so a much recommended excursion. The camel ride is an absolute must. What a site to see all those camels sitting next to the breathtaking volcanos. After... more

We visited 6Feb2006 in a hired car. Some of the northerly access roads to the National Park have been closed and diversions lead in from the south, but if you follow the northerly route, you will get close to the lava fields, replicated on the coach trip when you get there. Passing through the pay-box, you will drive up to... more
