We were there last April, 2006. The Oceanarium is great. It is well kept and the exhibitions, specially the penguins and the otters are amazing. more

Having now visited the Oceanarium for the second time, I can honestly say that I enjoyed both trips equally. By the way, the large fish mentioned in a previous review is called a Sun Fish. If you go to Lisbon make sure you visit the Oceanarium, it is well laid out with plenty to see. more

The Oceanarium is easy to reach. Take the metro to Oriente (Red Line), then walk through the huge 'Vasco da Gama' shopping mall (good buffet lunches on top floor - remember that here you pay by weight so don't overload your plate), then turn right and it's 5 minutes' walk. although this place was really nice it wasnt the biggest as was expected.. it was really great to see animals like sea otters playing and penguins and stuff, the one thing that amazed me tho was this odd looking fish that looked like a no shell turtle on its side, and flippers one on top one on bottom flapping same... more
