We recently went to the Palace from Lisbon. We took the train from the station at Rossio/Restoradores metro stop to SIntra. It is forbidden to take off photographs of the palace inside. Therefore the photos are only outdoor. Wonderful place. more

I highly recommend buying the sight-seeing pass for 3.50 euro. This will take you to all the tourist spots with in Sintra.
