I traveled to Lake Winnipesaukee for a Summer weekend during my time in Boston. I recommend this place for anyone looking to escape the crowds of Cape Cod. It's a huge, beautiful lake with a family atmosphere. The prices should be a bit more affordable than the Cape as well. more

I've taken the train ride twice and loved every minute of it as well as taking the boat ride three diffe-rent times which lets people know how the people on the islands in the lake during the warmer months live and how they get their supplies as well as mail and getting to/from their destinations inland!
