Since we had an evening flight to Flores, we checked out of our hotel in Guatemala City, had the hotel store our luggage, and spent the day at the zoo. We arrived at Guatemala City airport with a couple of hours to spare and walked over to the zoo after checking our bags in - it's a 15-20 minute walk away. It's a well-kept, well-presented place with plenty of lively animals. We spent about an hour there and saw just about everything. We even called in at a large handicraft... more

We had a wonderful time at the ZOO. There are many animals that you dont see in a US Zoo. Its clean and laid out very well. The animals have great habitats and good viewing. Its very reasonably priced. Its conveniently located and close to the airport. There is a wonderful handicraft market across the street. more
