To make sure I would be able to climb Huayna Picchu, I was waiting at the bus stop at 5am. I evenutally got on the 5th bus so potentially there were 200 people in front of me. At almost 57 years old, I am excited to say that "I made it!" My 36 year old daughter took off at the fork in the trail and went to the Temple of the Moon. She met me at the top for the breath-taking view and the careful trip back down to the trailhead. What a fantastic trek! more

If you want to see Machu Picchu a unique way, you must get there early for your visit of the site and go climb Huayna Picchu. Access to the mountain is limited to a couple hundred a day, so be sure to get to the far end of the site of Machu Picchu first. The view is incredible. more
