The hotel rooms are very dated and also contained this bugs crawling all over our bathroom sink and floor and on our night stands!! There is no entertainment to speak of. We played name that tune for an hour.... yawn yawn and when the show came on I thought I was watching a school play. They ran out of Beer... more

We stayed at the Riu from November 23 to 30, and we paid $1175 for the week, flight included, from Toronto. We mainly wanted a great beach, hot weather, good food and good music/clubs, all for the right price. We got it all here. We were not looking for a 5 star hotel, service or restaurants, thus our expectations were... more

Just got back and we had a ball. Yes the rooms need work but the whole place is neat as a pin. The food is great and the drinks plentifull. I would however not go back on a Holiday because of the amount of rude and sloppy guests. I would also not bring teenagers, there really isn't anything for them... more

First of all I want to say thank you to all of the members of Trip Advisor who answered my many questions! I read mixed reviews about the RIU, most were good. The most important thing to me is a clean, comfortable room. The rooms were a little out dated but who cares your in the Bahamas! The hotel itself... more

Loved it! Spectacular! Do not believe any of the bad reviews that are posted on this site. Food is amazing, hotel is immaculately kept. Entertainment is great, and Atlantis is right next door. Never boring. My sister and I each gained 4 pounds in the 3.5 days we were there. I'm not going to go into great detail about the... more

My daughter and I went on a mini gettaway. We very much enjoyed ourselves. We booked the 'view' room though I blieve the only extra you get there is a view of the pool. I beleive all rooms have an ocean view. The hotel is beautiful. The staff very friendly and helpfull. The entertainment in the lounge was unexpectedly tallented.... more

Yes the rooms are dated and in much need of a facelift, the wait to book a specialty restaurant (40 mins) are unnecessary and the front desk staff had there moments, but honestly, we'd go back tomorrow if we could. The food was truly amazing and the drinks were plentiful. By the 3rd day you'll be asking for your mix... more

I stayed 4 nights at hotel Riu. It was my first trip to the Bahamas and really enjoyed it (as will you). Here are a few of my thoughts CON: -Unless you are a heavy drinker you may not get the maximum value from the all-inclusive deal. -What's up with all the attitude from the front desk staff? -Mr. Beneby's... more

We just came back from Riu Paradise Island. We understood that during this time and until January-February there is very windy and it was. We were lucky and we had sun and just wind. Did not enter too much in the water, it is really dangerous. HOTEL claims 5 stars: SERVICE was AMAZING! CHECK IN in about 2-3 minutes since... more

We really enjoyed it here! We went on a 4 night trip - it was a wonderful getaway. Hotel is very clean. Great food w/ excellent a la carte restaurants! We loved the Japanese restaurant. Staff were really friendly. Beach is amazing. Only complaint we had was there were a lot of locals roaming the beach trying to sell stuff.... more
