My husband and I made our 4th pilgrimage to Small Hope Bay Lodge this August. We loved it as much as we always do. We have gone before with our 2 kids (6 and 13) and they enjoy Small Hope as much as we do, but while they were visiting the grandparents, we decided to sneak off for 5 days.... more

I have been to SHBL many times, including 2 New Years Eves. The last 4 times *before* the Oct 2006 visit I took my ailing mother with me. She was 85-86 years old and ill with terminal lung cancer at the time. Aside from the fact that the diving is wonderful, the food is superb and the location ideal, the... more

We were so thrilled with Small Hope Bay because we were so prepared for what to expect from other TripAdvisor reviews. Hope this helps. We stayed at SHB May 28 - June 4, 2008. "When can we come back again?" is all we heard the kids saying by the 3rd day. Need I say more? :) My wife and I... more

I stayed at Small Hope in August 2008. I am an avid diver who also teaches scuba diving. First of all, I must say that if you are an experienced diver who has dived in many locations around the world then small hope is not for you. I found the diving be very poor. Very few fish compared to diving... more

My husband and I stayed at Small Hope from Aug. 6-12th with 1 night on either end in Nassau. SH is a beautiful setting with a hard-working staff, and I would recommend it mostly for experienced divers who are looking for deep or more adventurous dives such as blue holes, shark, and night dives. Diving: I went with an Open... more

I am a single female who loves to travel alone. I desperately needed a vacation. I almost died a year ago and wanted to go somewhere remote, beautiful, on the ocean, and very quiet to celebrate my life. After much searching, I chose Small Hope Bay Lodge on Andros Island in the Bahamas. I was there for five days/four nights.... more

1. This IS a dive resort. Sure I guess non-divers could snorkel and still have a great time but it's all about diving and there’s pretty much nothing else on the island. I love the three dives per day schedule and the later than usual 9am morning dive. If you don't plan to dive or snorkel you will probably not... more

My son (17) and I just returned today from a 10 day stay at Small Hope Bay Lodge. Amongst other good things, this place will restore your faith in humanity. The owners and staff of Small Hope Bay Lodge welcome you into their expanded family and genuinely care about every aspect of your experience. If there is anything they can... more

There was 21 of us on an annual scuba trip.. 5 of us are close friends. Had a great time.. This place is simplicity at its finest.. This is NOT a luxury resort.. I am an airline pilot and professional traveler so i personally loved the fact that you dont need to pay for anything or swipe a room key... more

Well folks.. So many reviews and weak pictures.. LET ME SHARE MY STUFF!! Just got back from SH (5/25-29). Totaled 6 divers ranging from 22-31. All in all this was a great spot and enjoyed our stay very much. I will break down the review for everyone.. Resort: The resort itself was about 10mins from Andros airport. Small, yet cozy..... more
