If you are not going to get a room with a view then don’t bother, without it the Medano barely scrapes it’s 3 star rating. Expect a series of major minor irritations, such as not having enough people on the desk, having only one plug per room making it awkward to charge cameras or mobiles and, in my experience, most... more

Spent 3 nights in mid March, booking via Hotelopia. Only land view h/b rates available. Noting sea views rooms are better from other reviewers, we requested a balcony and sea view room in the special requests box. One was available at check in for the 8 euro per nigt supplement. It is worth it, but we had room 117, which... more

24 Feb - 9 Mar 2008. We stayed at the El Medano on the above dates. Thanks to all the previous reviews we knew what to expect - we took our travel kettle with us (essential!) and upgraded rooms at 8 Euros/night on our arrival. There weren't any rooms available facing the beach and Montana Roja, so we were given... more

Really enjoyed this hotel and town.Booked halfboard and can honestly say that the food was well prepared and very edible. The hotel is built on concrete piers out into the harbour and it felt pretty unusual in being able to walk straight down into the water from the hotel sunbalcony. The water seems to be very clean. The town is typically spanish... more

Location---5*. Cleanng--- 4*. Towels/bedlinen---4* People---3* (would have been 4* but very understaffed at times- one waiter for 30 tables at breakfast is not on, neither is a 5 minute wait for a key at reception.) Dining Experience---1* If you enjoy eating at school canteens or transport caffs then this is the place for you. Food-1* ( I'm being generous here)... more

As an avid Trip Advisor reader we decided to book this hotel based on the comments others had made. We just didn't want to do the Las Americas thing again. I have ticked excellent purely for the location. The planes didn't bother us at all, yes you can hear and see them being so close to the airport but then... more

This is a lovely little hotel for anyone who wants a basic, quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the large towns. The rooms are basic but clean with views over the sea and every effort is made by the staff to make you feel at home. The food again is basic but good with choices at every... more

My wife, granddaughter, motherinlaw and I have just returned from a 4 day break at this lovely hotel.. Its three star, basic, clean, with a wonderful position right on the beach. My wife booked this on line so i was not sure what to expect. The location was exceptional, the restaurant where you have buffet lunch and breakfast overlooks the... more
