We weren´t expecting much as we read the reviews from this site beforehand. Still it was a bit of a shock how bad the hotel was run. Location is the only reason to go there. Everything in the hotel is either weird or just in bad shape. Cleaning is done by a young girl with young brother or son like... more

Hotel is in a great location, 2 blocks from the city center. Rooms are small, even compared to the usual rooms in Europe. Most of the staff were friendly with exception of one man who seemed to have an attitude toward everyone in general. Not a bad place to stay. But I would suggest paying a little more at one... more

We went to Iceland through Airmiles to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and husbands 50th birthday. This hotel made it the worst experience ever. Bedrooms can only be described as closets. Booked a double got a twin. Moved to a double where i had either to climb over my husband or shuffle to bottom of bed! Moved to a triple... more

Imagine traveling 12 hours to get to Iceland - your dream vacation with your two children. Waterfalls, volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and.... your very own (i.e., "private") hotel entrance covered in graffiti! Welcome to the Hotel Metropolitan! Among other amenities you will find: grown men in their underwear throwing up outside of your hotel window (which has no shade to... more

Location is great and we were able to find parking easily every time nearby. we didn't expect much based on the reviews and it was an average place, most of the staff is helpful, some are a little indifferent. there are mini fridges in the rooms but they don't work. we bought beer and then realized this so we were... more

Worst things about this hotel? * It's a bit shabby and not very clean (but not dirty enough to make your skin crawl). * The only service our room received during our three night stay was the addition of an extra toilet roll - bins weren't emptied, towels replenished, etc. * The pillows were floppier than a spaniel's ears -... more

We booked a 4 night trip to Reykjavik with lastminute.com. I can't really complain because we got a very reasonable deal but our first choice of hotel (which I had researched on the internet) was not available. They recommended Hotel Metropolitan instead, as it is central and the room rates include breakfast. It seemed to get alright reviews so I... more

Hotel was in a excellant location and it is easy to walk to all the main attractions. BUT accomodation reminds me of my university room small and in need of a general facelift and the beds were very hard. The staff were helpful and the breakfast satisfactory. more

Good location right near the city square, about 10 minute walk to the main church which is amazing. Rooms were clean, but one of the mattresses was just a foam one, not very comfortable. Only problem was the bathroom, whenever the shower was turned on a very funny smell came through the drain pipes. Other than that the breakfast was... more

Good hotel ,small room but good value for iceland!! Good breakfast, fill your boots because resturants have unbelievable prices. Bring your own food and booze!!! Trips out are way over the top and your bus tickets are checked. One pub has beer for £3 a pint but the rest are way more .car hire may seem reasonable but the weather... more
