I have stayed there many times over the last 8 years. It's out from the city centre so not great if you don't have a car. it has a small gym and swimming pool and is one of the few in / around the centre to have this (which is one of my reasons for staying there). I pretty much... more

This is a good hotel, with no major problems, but there are a lot of minor problems which could easily be resolved. The first thing I noticed and that other guests commented on was how dark the approach road is, you cannot see the sides of the roads when you are driving and it would be easy to put some... more

The lesson learned when approaching the property directly is to ask the receptionist for her best rate - GBP25 below the rack rate at 4pm in the afternoon. they can assess whether the hotel will be full or not. The room was good, if something of a walk from reception. There is no elevator/ lift to upper floors There does... more

Stayed 1 night just before Christmas 2007.Very welcoming receptionist, helpful & freindly. Had room ugrade , no complaints from our family of 4. Room clean & modern , shower good but controls stiff & hard to use.Room was at the left hand side , no noise heard despite a large party going on. Breakfast was above average for this type... more

My husband and I went to Ipswich for a 50th birthday party. We booked the Holiday Inn as it was only 5 miles from the party venue. Check-in was reasonably smooth and efficient and we were pleasantly surprised by the nice clean room with lots of stuff like a sofa, tv, trouser press, kettle, toiletries and mini fridge.(No biscuits though.)... more

We had a fairly unexceptional night at this unexceptional hotel. All the staff we had dealings with were very friendly, helpful and welcoming apart from the girl manning reception when we checked out. We had booked 2 rooms via the Holiday Inn website and had to pay up front for them. Upon checking out the girl told us we had... more

I stayed one night at the London Road Ipswich Holiday Inn. Very surprisingly my room was a smoking room despite my non-smoking preference which I indicated when making the booking online. At check in I was told no non-smoking rooms were available. My room was very spacious with a sofa, flat screen TV and the window had no opening restriction... more

Spent two nights at this Hotel and was very pleased with the quality of the room and service. We booked an executive room which in our view was not worth the extra expense. Indeed the standard twin room is larger than the executive double. You get a mini bar, newspapers and toiletries in the double but little else. As reported... more

We have just returned from spending three nights at the ‘Holiday Inn’ in Ipswich and will certainly return. (Note this is not the ‘Express at Holiday Inn’ – I think some people may have confused the two.) It is in a semi-rural position on the outskirts of the town, but near the main A12 and easy to get. Our room... more

I found this hotel a very comfortable and friendly place to come back to after a day touring the Suffolk countryside on a recent WA Shearings trip. Very comfortable room, good breakfast menu and varied evening meals. Good service in the restaurant at both meals, and friendly staff all round. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to use the pool or... more
