I had a really good time at Melaleuca on Mitchell in Darwin. As a single female travelling it was great. They had fermale only dorms, I was in a 6 bed dorm with air conditioning and lockers to store my backpack in. What can I say Melaleuca is the only place for an amazing stay in Darwin. If you're not a backpacker don't stay here. There is a reasonable hotel next door. Arrived at 2am from airport to 24hour desk and confronted by quite unfriendly staff . About only decorations were the computer printed signs giving orders that adorned the walls. Too noisy. Could not sleep because of loud music, noise from streets, other guests SHOUTING (drunk) at night at day anytime / closing door loudly. Room strictly basic. Clean. Non-smokers avoid it. Very central. Never come back. more
