This is a real little gem far away from the tourist trap of Pana. The rooms are comfortable, nice little fireplaces help keep the room cozy at night. The local food market was a treat to walk through, much more interesting then the "gringo market" that sells overpriced tourist junk. The owner of the hotel is friendly the service is... more

What a wonderful place to stay! My bungalow was cozy, clean, and peaceful. The owners were kind and accomodating. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The food in the restaurant was THE BEST during my stay in Guatemala. The best part was the working fireplace in every bungalow! It took the chill away in the evenings and added a... more

What a wonderful and beautiful place to stay. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights this month (Dec). My wifes work is based out of Lake Atitlan so she had stayed at The Posada before, but I had not. The rooms (we had a cottage) were clean, quaint, and overall GREAT! The views of the lake from the... more

We stayed in the Sol cottage for two nights and were simply delighted with our charming little cottage, the hotel's restaurant, the lovely lush gardens, pool and the hot tub! We got off the boat at the Santiago dock and following the Lonely Planet guidebook's directions, we chose to walk to the Posada with our carry-ons in tow. It was... more

Posada de Santiago, what a dream come true. It is said that there are mystical powers felt at Lake Atitlan. Yes, to be sure! Santiago and the Posada (the hotel) made our trip to Guatemala so special. The cottage where we stayed was amazing, the meals were right out of the "food network", but more important than that... the owners,... more

My family and I (14 yo boy and 8 yo girl) stayed at the Posada for one week in August. Even prior to arriving we had a good feeling about it as David the proprietor had answered numerous e-mail questions, set us up with a private driver, and arranged for us to visit a local preschool. Our driver Juan Velasquez... more

Stayed for 2 nights at the Posada and it was an absolute gem! From the initial reservations to checking out- everything went so smoothly! Not only were the hotel and the hotel grounds just lovely, but the friendliness, sincerity, and helpfulness of the staff really enriched our stay! Funny, nice, honest, and genuine! We stayed in one of the stone... more

Spent four lovely days at the Posada. Great food, very friendly place. The gardens and the views over the lake were so beautiful. And we got lots of good advice about things to do. Wonderful to have a place to hang out and play cards and games on rainy afternoons. Highly recommended. more

Loved our time at the Posada. When I think about our three week trip to Guatemala the Posada and Lago Atitlan region are the first things I think of. The food is great and the owners feel like friends when you leave. This is the only place I will book when we go back. more

My mother and I and my two toddlers stayed at the posada for almost two weeks at the beginning of August. We loved it and compared the other hotels we stayed in afterward in Antigua and Monterrico disfavorably. The food is so good; lots made on site including the bread, the icecream, the lettuce and of course the coffee. David... more
