The Kybele is a small, excellently run, hotel in Old Istanbul. It is just a block or two from all the major sites. The hotel is so unique because of its antiques and very unusual decor with thousands of Turkish ceiling light. I am sure that every guest in the hotel had the opportunity to meet the owner who was... more

I saw the pictures of the Kybele on the website and i knew i had to stay there. It looked so beautiful with its rich colors, lanterns and cozy clutter of antiques. It was even better in person. The decor is the real star here - it is ridiculously charming from the rooms to the lobby to the little hidden... more

This hotel was a fantastic time. The staff was friendly, the food was great and the rooms were unique. Our room was small and the shower would be considered tight by many but the hotel is so unique that I'd highly recommend it. It has all of these antique lamps hanging for the ceilings all over the hotel (even your... more

As an long-haul flight attendant, I spend about a third of my life staying in hotels. That makes me a pretty critical customer. Many things make the Kybele unique..... Walking into the small darkish narrow lobby you wonder where the heck you have ended up. Then you walk through, and enter an overwhelming experience. Small connecting public rooms for lounging... more

We arranged a pick up from the airport through Kybele hotel (worked perfectly) and stayed there 2 nights and moved on because we had wanted to stay here but didn't have room. Was glad we sampled other hotels because each was unique experience. The décor of the hotel was fun (antique lamps from the roof) and the folks were especially... more

The Kybele ıs rıght ın the center of everythıng ın the heart of the old cıty. You can walk everywhere and see all the prıncıple sıghts lıke the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophıa, The Cıstern, the wonderful colorful market. But the best place of all was our hotel wıth its colorful mosque lamps hangıng from all the ceılıngs. Our host, Mıke,... more

My partner and I stayed in Kybele in September 2005. The rooms all have the most beautiful glass lamps hanging from all ceilings, and they sell similar in the basement shop. The staff are most attentive, and the breakfasts lovely. There is a traditional Ottoman-style house in the garden, and the place has a wonderful ambience. Our room was facing... more

Triple room, three independent integrated beds. First time ever! Two balconies, loads of small antiques, features, lights. Breakfast was very good too, served in the dining room downstairs. We also had a decent side view of Aya Sofia, very happy with the choice. more

We loved this hotel and stayed for 3 nights in June on our trip to Turkey. The room was clean, a reasonable size and not just another bland hotel chain. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a plentiful buffet breakfast. The hotel was also well placed for the major sights, restaurants and the tram line. If you... more

I have continued returning to this hotel since 2001, and if I can choose where I stay in Istanbul, this is the only place for me --in addition to maybe Kempinsky ;-) ! I went to Istanbul in 2001 with an intention to stay only 1 week. I stayed with a Turkish friend but after 1 week he had to... more
