We stayed at the Royal Mara in October of this year and had a fantastic time! I have been on 3 other safaris in Namibia and South Africa and have stayed in tented camps that were fenced in and not very personable, none of them even slightly compared. At the Royal Mara you feel more connected to the "Bush" with... more

I really don't know how to put into words the fantastic time we spent in the Royal Mara. The lodge is like a 5 star hotel, with canvas sides. We are a family of 3, 10 year old son. In previous lodges the extra bed is a simple camp bed, not in this one. It was a mini four poster... more

We stayed at the Royal Mara in mid September and had a fantastic time. Even though we were the only people in the camp for a few days, the staff really looked after us. Every day we had two safaris, breakfast by the Mara river with the hippos, one day we had lunch out in the middle of the Masai... more

A fantastic stay, and we just want to go back as soon as we can! We went there with our 3 children ( aged 4, 6, and 8y) and with a friend couple and their children (aged 5 and 7y). We were wondering how it will go with the children and it was just amazing!! We arrived at the end... more

The Royal Mara is just beautiful. The rooms: raised tented homes really are just outrageous. You really feel like you are sleeping with the hippos and the zebra's but feel totally safe. Everyone is very friendly. They really take care of you! Enjoy your stay!! more

Personnel, Food & Service: ------------------------------------------ Largely exceeded my expectations!!! The owners were very nice and hospitable, while stuff was really really... more

This was a fantastic place to stay. We booked directly with the hotel, and found the owner to be efficient in responding online. That was a very nice pre- touch. They also took care of our flight arrangments for us which was somewhat of a relief. The lodge itself is wonderful, and I agree with all previous reviewers who found... more

What a fantastic place. The food was superb. Way beyond what you would expect in the middle of the bush. International cuisine, great steaks, barbecues, all first class. They even gave us a lunch on the open plain surrounded by wildlife at no extra cost. The rooms unimaginably luxurious and memorable. Loved the carvings of wildlife. Loved watching hippos from... more

Actual physical location could not be more idyllic. The peninsula makes it very private and provides a stunning view of the river and the Hippo Pools. (And the resident 100 plus Hippos) Tents were straight out of a fantasy, very over the top in a wonderful way. Animals in the carvings and paintings looked very natural. The tents were well... more

As Canadians living in Nairobi Kenya, the world famous Massai Mara game conservancy is less than a one hour flight from our home. We are frequent visitors to this region and love to see the amazing wildlife that exists here like no other place on our planet! Having just spent three spectacular days there last week showing off our "backyard"... more
