This was our fourth visit to Severin Sea Lodge and we were really looking forward to our first Christmas holiday in Kenya – but what a flop! As usual we requested the same comfort class bungalow – room 103, as it is close to the amenities and my husband can’t do too much walking. Whilst we understand what others say... more

I stayed at this hotel from 5th Dec-20th Dec 2008 with my husband and 10 month old son. On arrival we waited about 20-30 minutes to be checked in and were given a drink on arrival. We were shown to our room and were very disappointed with it as we had booked a comfort class bungalow which was to cost... more

My wife and I stayed at the severin from November the 21st for two weeks AI. We had booked a bungalow type room which we found to be on the small side, very tired and in need of brightening up. The shower area definately needs updating. On a brighter note, the room itself was always kept very clean and the... more

I stayed at severin last year in september/october and loved it. we stayed again this year during august. I love the hotel and the staff they are so friendly and would recommend this hotel to anyone. However the food was not as good but what can you expect they are trying to keep the money coming in and were hosting... more

i enjoy my time at the severin, we got upgraded for fee to a bungalow, the food was lovely, how ever they had locals staying and decided to base the food for them. apart from that all the staff are friendly and easy to get along with. I would recommend not to buy anything off the beach boys as there... more

Stayed in the Severin in July and August, but have moved house and only now got an internet connection! Overall, had a fantastic experience in Kenya. The people are lovely (even if 300 'jambo's a day do tend to grate after a while!), and safari is the best thing you will ever do. However, I thi nk next time myself... more

Hotel: Having just returned from 2 weeks holiday at The Severin Sea Lodge near Mombasa I feel compelled to give others the benefit of our experience there. The hotel is lovely, although not quite 4 star. We were initially going to upgrade to a comfort room as advised by others, but upon arrival we found our room was more than... more

We returned from a two week holiday at the Severin Sea lodge two weeks ago and as a result are suffering serious holiday blues! We upgraded from the standard room to a comfort room with a sea view - the rooms needs an over haul in terms of decor but they are comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly... more

We loved the Severin. We loved the great vaulted thatched and cool public areas, the pools, the monkeys, the swing bar (where we rather overdosed on Pinacoladas), the flame tree grill, and the Imani Dhow restaurant (expensive but romantic). Okay, the bedrooms are a little basic - but this is Africa - and it is more than compensated for by... more

Severin sea lodge is a nice hotel, although it is not 4 stars as advertised, more a 3.5. The hotel is handy for getting into town with an ATM, and supemarket (Nakumat) within easy reach. There is a go-kart track 400 yards from the front gate. Rooms are clean if a little basic, modernised rooms are avialable but they are... more
