My husband and I spent 8 nights at the Porta Hotel Antigua and loved every minute of it! The area is safe and within walking distance to everything. We had a deluxe room with a fireplace and a balcony. It is worth the few extra dollars to upgrade to a deluxe room. It was large and tastefully decorated. The bathroom... more

The Porta Antigua Hotel was fantastic! We spent a few nights in one of their rooms, it was in one of the newer one's and the rooms and restroom facilities were faboulous. The staff was very friendly, the food was good and the grounds were beautiful. We traveled with 2 small children and they had a great time in the... more

we felt very welcome at the entrance and finally relaxed once the staff at the front desk greeted. The lobby is vey warm but once you enter into the dinning room and look into the garden and find the Agua Volcano right in front of you...it is inspiring. Rooms are confortable, there is nothing in them that is missing really.... more

PORTA HOTEL ANTIGUA is a large, well known hotel from Antigua Guatemala located at about 7 blocks away from the plaza. It has been divided into 3 sections but they are all equally charming, cozy and nicely decorated. The food is great, the pool is large and the prices are reasonable. Its a great place to stay if you enjoy... more

Finding a hotel in Antigua on less than two week notice is never fun, but we lucked out with this one. My wife and I were adopting from an orphanage in Antigua and wanted a decent place to stay, and to calm for such an important event. We were not disappointed. The last time we were in Antigua, we tried... more

Porta Antigua Hotel is centrally located and covers over an acre of property offering various room types. Originally assigned a Premium Room, modern, wood floors, fireplace, lovely ammenties. Since I enjoy the outdoors, a balcony room was requested. Very nice. After returning from Lake Atitlan only a standard room was available, but sufficient. Larger screen TV and more durable lamps... more

If you go to Antigua and want to get the most of the experience, it is important you choose a place in the old city, in walking distance of the central square. If you are not up to an expensive boutique hotel (e.g. Posada del Angel, where the Clintons stayed) and Casa de Santo Domingo is overbooked (a favorite for... more

We just returned from 2 weeks in Antigua and stayed about 9 of those nights in this hotel. I can't say enough about the service in this hotel. Everything is spotless and the grounds are adorned with tropical plants, little fountains, cozy sitting places and a perfect view of Aqua Volcano. If you have children or are traveling with a... more

We had a large set of rooms in the hotels new annex, and though being apart from the main building had its negatives, the beautiful rooms and ambiance made up for it. The rooms were sizable, decorated with lovely style, and each had its own fireplace. The only negative about the rooms--they got stuffy when the windows are closed, which... more

We stayed in the newest addition and inspite of a little construction noise in the daytime, it was charming and pleasant. Very private, lovely small pool in the new addition. more
