The staff was kind, but spoke ONLY Spanish. The single room downstairs are to the back of the building. There is only one small window over the shower. Mold is all over the walls, sheets, showers. If you have allergies, you cannot stay there. It is VERY dirty! The front rooms are larger, not as much mold but also dirty.... more

Whenever I'm in Antigua, I stay at the Burkhardt. It's a great cheap option in Antigua, maybe the only cheap option if you want something quieter and more civilized than other backpacker options. The Burkhard is an extremely comfortable place to stay, and I have come scarily close to living there at times.
