When arriving at the Ruth Rimonim Hotel, one falls in love: in love with the charming hotel located at the heart of the Artists Colony, facing the breath taking view of Meron Mountain; in love with each of the 78 individually designed rooms, equipped with cable TV, telephone, hairdryer and mini-bar, built carefully to retain the style of the old Turkish Khan from the 17th century; in love with the quaint alleys of Safed. more » « less

My husband and I stayed at the Ruth Rimonim in Sfat for a long weekend. This hotel has a great location in the Artists Colony in Old Sfat. It is made up of several of the former artists' houses and two larger buildings. It has a spa, that I understand has recently been refurbished (although we did not visit it... more

Very beautiful setting, old arab house, breathtaking views of Har Meron. We were put in what seemed to be the old section, with old rooms and smelly toilets. Food was surprisingly good. Swimming pool had freezing water. more

We stayed at the Ruth Rimonim of Safed for 2 nights in early July. Our likes were: big pool, nice architectural designs, beautiful property and view, relatively small hotel, nice sized rooms, personal service in the dining area, kosher hotel, supposedly the nicest hotel in the area, comfortable bed, large windows in older hotel sections, nice security guards, Dislikes: not... more

We stayed two nights at the Ruth Rimonim on our recent trip to Israel with our two daughters, ages 11 and 8. The hotel is very charming, with a lot of stone arches, and a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The room was a decent size by Israeli standards with a decent size bathroom and tub/shower. Our room also... more

We've just returned from a lovely holiday in Israel, spoilt only by the awful experience of going to this hotel. We arrived, after a 3 and a half hour taxi drive in 37 degree heat, at 3.30 p.m. to be told by the rude, surly staff that our room would be ready in "two minutes". Over half an hour later,... more

i stayed at the ruth rimonim for 3 days.i loved the genuine ancient building and the fantastic view.my kids loved the pool and the breakfast buffet.once you realize that you are actually travelling through a historically mystical and special town, you tend to overlook the non-existence of luxury and lack of good internet or t.v. connection. its about as good as... more

We stayed here for three nights with our tour. The rroms were very nice and clean. The hotel was very nice. The staff was great. The food was the best we had in Israel. Now the best part! A short five minute walk to the artist colony - wow - I could spend a month there shopping and talking to... more

I stayed in the Ruth Rimonim hotel 30 years ago and assumed that I may be in for a little disappointment after all those years. I was wrong. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I love this hotel. I think it captures the charm of Safed - one of my favorite places in Israel. The staff was first class. After... more

SAFED: RUTH RIMONIM We just loved this hotel. It was old, but in a wonderful, homey, classy way. For example, it had a teeny-tiny TV, and some of the electrical sockets were a little loose; but it also had this incredible stone wall with a large niche that had a couple of closets and a big cushion-y seat for reading... more

Too much emphasis on lavish food selection but then they charge you for coffee on a prepaid dinner !!! Daily INTERNET connection 17$...... In the new section cleanliness below average. Exercise room equipment old and falling apart. We paid 225$ a night including breakfast and dinner and feel robbed. more
