The short journey across the lagoon to the hotel by boat sets you up for a big disappointment. The location is superb, right on Paradise beach but unfortunately that is the only good thing I can say about Ceysands. If you are in to cheap tacky out dated dull hotels then this is for you!! My boyfriend and I came back yesterday from our trip to Ceysands in Sri Lanka. Once you arrive at the airport, you have approximately 3:30 to the hotel. Honestly, I have never seen such driving... they are crazy!!! To get to the hotel you have to cross the river with a small boat (2 minutes). As a welcome we received... more

please never stay in this hotel.we checked out after a couple of hours,could not stay longer.the rooms were bad,the beds were rickety and the whole room was smelly.needs renovation badly.the management and staff were unhelpful about our complains.if you are a vegetarian it is worse,the food is terrible.pls never go there . we checked out and went to taj exotica... more

Entrance is really special: Aluthgama 'station' to park the car, then hotel boat across the lagoon to the peninsula where hotel is. (There is a back entrance completely through land road from Bentota, though...) So of all the Bentota beach hotels, this one is by FAR the quietest because Galle Road is not 50 meters but 500 meters from your... more
