We were charged US$411 (albeit during Perehera) for a dreadful "suite" - dirty floors, no hot water on demand, out-of-date showers and baths (2* standard), worn-out towels, cheapTCL un-tuned television, fluffy dowdy loo surround etc etc. The food (one lunch) was awful, the oversell on massage too much and the staff unmanaged and untrained - the stood over out table... more

We've just returned from a three night stay at Manor House and we feel like we've been away for weeks! The house is located about 10mins drive from the heart of Kandy town so unless you have a car, you will be have to take a local Tuk Tuk driver (they all know the house well). I think The Manor House has to be the best small hotel that I have ever stayed in. The level of service and the attention to detail was outstanding. The room I stayed was fantastic, very spacious, and incredibly luxurious considering the amount I paid. The half board option represents very good value for money, and the food was great.... more
