I stayed here with a group of 12 friends for a break and to go out into Manchester. Overall we had an enjoyable stay but there were a few issues that bring down the general good standard of the hotel. The check in staff and pub/restaurant were excellent and could not be faulted. The pool and leisure areas were all... more

Booked a 2 night stay to attend a family wedding (elsewhere). Lobby and restaurant appear to have been upgraded to a modern style, that is, dark! Lobby had plenty of chairs and tables. Rooms could have been cleaned better. Chambermaids ignored "do not disturbed' sign. Could do with the décor being updated as they are rather tired and tatty. No... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Village hotel in Bury. The location was picked as we have friends who live near by. I was slightly nervous due to the not so brilliant reviews on TA, but I found a great deal on Laterooms which was 2 nights B and B, with dinner on the first... more

Outside very grand. Good location. Public spaces very chic. Breakfast buffet very good, though for some reason my "toast" was carbonised to the extent that I wasn't sure if it should be eaten or used as charcoal for a barbecue. It was the bed that did it though. It was a single bed on a divan with the rigidity of... more

Having had a good experience at this hotel in the past, I had no reason not to book again. At first we thought the room was alright, though when we turned the heating on the smell of burning dust was over powering. One summer quilt was provided, even though it was October. ONE TEABAG in the room, even though it... more

2 Rooms had been booked for 2 people of the same company, however when it came to the night of the stay 1 person managed to check in and the other person was transferred to a De Vere hotel 20 MILES AWAY!!!! as they were over booked. Totally unexceptable when people have travelled for a long period of time that... more

Stayed here for a wedding, the hotel is ok however a few problems arose.... a) the room which we were given had no curtains! Chose a room here if you like to be woken up at 4am on a summer morning by the sun. Our room had v thin net curtains which people could see you through, diagonally to the... more

We paid £59 per night for a twin room including breakfast. At this price, the accommodation was on a par with similar alternatives e.g: Travelodge et al. The room was not huge by any means, but pretty clean & with a superbly powerful shower. The bed did seem somewhat older than the hotel itself (built 2001) but wasn't uncomfortable. Personally,... more

I went here with my husband (i'm 28, he's 35) and we both had a great time. I don't understand how anyone couldn't like this hotel. Looks amazing from the outside- very grand and inside is even grander. Lovely, modern, spacious rooms and the a la carte food in the restaurant was gorgeous. Then there's the pool- wow. It's a... more
