The Mayan Princess is the most unique resort condominium on Mustang Island. With our very distinct architecture and 3 lagoon pools we are definitely one of a kind. We also have a new hot tub that was installed in 2008. Our swim up snack bar is open all summer on the weekends. For a family vacation or a corporate get away (we have a meeting room) you just can't go wrong staying at the Mayan. more » « less

Just got back from a week at the Mayan Princess, and were disappointed by the condition of the place. We had a 2 bedroom split level unit on the third floor. First, the positives. The views of the beach are terrific and the location is far enough away from town that it's very quiet. The furniture was new and nice,... more

I called the Property to check rates and advised them this was my first time checking them out, I usually stay at Port Royal, but their website looked like it was worth looking into. The rates were a tad bit more, but for the view, it was nice. I stayed in 314. The only drawback of this property is that... more

We have just returned from another wonderful week at the Mayan. This was our 8th stay in the last 12 years. We have checked out most of the other condos from Port Aransas to North Padre but have not found anywhere that matches the Mayans charm and tropical atmosphere. The condos are large and lovely with views and balconies facing... more

So I and my wife's family and their families plan a 3 day weekend at this "resort" at the end of July. Excited and eager to be there, we arrive at 2:30 pm only to find out that check in is at 4:00 pm. This despite a checkout time of 11:00 am. When we get out of our cars in... more

I feel very compelled to respond to this vistors review especially since it full of outright false information and was born from the guest wanting to recieve a free vacation. 1) The guest arrived in late July right after the passing of hurrican Dolly. We were located on the north side of the storm and recieved copious amounts of rain....

In person The Mayan Princess has the look of a Mexican estate that has seen better days. However, the friendly, kind service is well worth the stay. The rooms are roomy and spacious and very homey. I love the fact that maids don't come until your last day and basically it's up to you to keep things orderly. The Mayan... more

From the Mayan Princess staff, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to seeing you during your future vacations! It is our duty to provide you with a 'Home away from home' which is why we do not provide maid service and are happy that you appreciated that aspect of your stay. Our housekeeping staff...

From the outside it looks ok but we noticed not many cars in the parking lot. We checked in went out to the pool. It looks nothing like the pics on their website. Much smaller than the website and the bar in the water is in disrepair and not in use. The beach was loaded with seaweed and the city... more

As you said in your review, the Mayan Princess is under new management and we are attempting to restore the Mayan to its highest potential. Regarding the pictures on our website: they were taken recently by a staff member and what you see on the website is what you get when you come to the Mayan. The bar that is...

We went down for a family vacation. We had stayed there before as a couple but now we have a 2 year old. We love this place! We had the entire place to ourselves. Our room was clean and all appliances worked. The pools were cleaned every morning. We stayed in a one bedroom and had plenty of room for... more

From the Mayan Princess staff-we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us! As of april, we are under new management and have many things planned to get the building looking new again. All of our condos are individually owned so that would be why you found that some furniture wasnt as comfortable as others-we encourage the owners to update...

Spent a few days at the Mayan Princess during Spring Break. The Princess has seen better days, our unit smelled moldy, the toilet did not flush properly and the refrigerator did not cool. I called in a work order on Saturday but I never heard from anyone. I finally got the hang of gigling the handle of the toilet to... more

I work for the new management company that has taken over The Mayan Princess and I would like to repond to this review. One thing that would be very helpfull to a manager is to place the room number in your review. I do not know which room to take out of rental without that information. We are completeing unit...

We stayed in room 213 which has a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean view. This unit has been decorated well and properly maintained. Surprising HD TV and internet access. All appliances worked. The building has deferred maintenance including rusted stairwells, broken doors and it needs paint. It appears not many improvements have been made to the property since its... more

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Mayan Princess! All of the condos here are individually owned so they differ as far as decor goes and how often they are updated by the owner. We are under new management and have many plans for the building as far as painting goes and getting...

I would never recommend this place to anyone. My family and I expected a nice resort when we looked at the websight! NOT AT ALL! There was rust and weeds everywhere. This place may have been nice in the 80's, but it hasn't been updated since then. We stayed in unit 316. The woman we rented from on greatrentals.com listed... more
