Mango tree is a busy little restaurant in the heart of Colombo,it;s hard to get a reservation but it's well worth trying to have a meal here.
Food is authentic Indian and very very flavouful and tastes very close to indian food made in India.
some items on the menu include all types of yummy biriyani's , crispy naans in various flavours .
i had the prawn buiyani, lamb curry, kofta curry (which was the best i have had anywhere in the world !) black lentil curry .
appetisers look whimsical and every bite is a delight.
cocktails are reasonably priced and are big in size. try the black currant Mocktail with salt.
staff is helpful with deciding on the menu and are happy to serve and keep you satisfied.
considering Srilanka has become pricey all around ,mango tree is still very reasonable in their prices and offer excellent value for money. portions are good ask the waitstaff for advice though.
decor is clean lines, modern with ethnic touches. warm and friendly with the mango tree theme running in artworks and signage.
look out for the big old mango tree outside the restaurant!
